8 Oct. 26 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1 p.m.
9 Nov. 2 at New York Giants 4:15 p.m.
10 Nov. 9 Bye
11 Nov. 19 at Washington Redskins* 8:15 p.m.
12 Nov. 23 San Francisco 49ers 1 p.m.
13 Nov. 27 (Thurs.) Seattle Seahawks 4:15 p.m.
14 Dec. 7 at Pittsburgh Steelers 4:15 p.m.
15 Dec. 14 New York Giants* 8:15 p.m.
16 Dec. 20 (Sat.) Baltimore Ravens 8:15 p.m.
17 Dec. 28 at Philadelphia Eagles 1 p.m.

The Cowboys should have some fun offensive showdowns with Cleveland in Week 1, Green Bay in Week 3, Cincinnati in Week 5, Arizona in Week 6 and both Giants games. Dallas should be poised to make another Super Bowl run if Tony Romo can remain healthy and Terrell Owens happy. I'm looking forward to seeing Marion Barber as the starting running back.

New York Giants
Wk Date Matchup Time
1 Sept. 4 (Thurs.) Washington Redskins 7 p.m.
2 Sept. 14 at St. Louis Rams 1 p.m.
3 Sept. 21 Cincinnati Bengals 1 p.m.
4 Sept. 28 Bye
5 Oct. 5 Seattle Seahawks 1 p.m.
6 Oct. 13 at Cleveland Browns (Mon.) 8:30 p.m.
7 Oct. 19 San Francisco 49ers 1 p.m.
8 Oct. 26 at Pittsburgh Steelers 4:15 p.m.
9 Nov. 2 Dallas Cowboys 4:15 p.m.
10 Nov. 9 at Philadelphia Eagles 8:15 p.m.
11 Nov. 16 Baltimore Ravens 1 p.m.
12 Nov. 23 at Arizona Cardinals 4:15 p.m.
13 Nov. 30 at Washington Redskins 1 p.m.
14 Dec. 7 Philadelphia Eagles 1 p.m.
15 Dec. 14 at Dallas Cowboys* 8:15 p.m.
16 Dec. 21 Carolina Panthers 1 p.m.
17 Dec. 28 at Minnesota Vikings 1 p.m.

The defending champs have some tough road games at Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Minnesota. But the Giants were great on the road last year, so it shouldn't matter where they play. New York will likely lose the division to Dallas, but the Giants will again be in contention for the wild card and have a shot at repeating. A 10-6 season is a likely scenario.

Philadelphia Eagles
Wk Date Matchup Time
1 Sept. 7 St. Louis Rams 1 p.m.
2 Sept. 15 (Mon.) at Dallas Cowboys 8:30 p.m.
3 Sept. 21 Pittsburgh Steelers 4:15 p.m.
4 Sept. 28 at Chicago Bears 8:15 p.m.
5 Oct. 5 Washington Redskins 1 p.m.
6 Oct. 12 at San Francisco 49ers 4:15 p.m.
7 Oct. 19 Bye
8 Oct. 26 Atlanta Falcons 1 p.m.
9 Nov. 2 at Seattle Seahawks 4:15 p.m.
10 Nov. 9 New York Giants 8:15 p.m.
11 Nov. 16 at Cincinnati Bengals 1 p.m.
12 Nov. 23 at Baltimore Ravens 1 p.m.
13 Nov. 27 (Thurs.) Arizona Cardinals 8:15 p.m.
14 Dec. 7 at New York Giants 1 p.m.
15 Dec. 15 (Mon.) Cleveland Browns 8:30 p.m.
16 Dec. 21 at Washington Redskins 1 p.m.
17 Dec. 28 Dallas Cowboys 1 p.m.

Donovan McNabb should be excited about this season because his injured knee should be close to 100 percent. Brian Westbrook has the chance to get another 2,000 total yards. And the defense should be better in Philadelphia with the addition of DB Asante Samuel. Look for the Eagles to finish with at least 10 wins and challenge Dallas for the division record. I see three teams from the NFC East making the playoffs.

Washington Redskins
Wk Date Matchup Time
1 Sept. 4 (Thurs.) at New York Giants 7 p.m.
2 Sept. 14 New Orleans Saints 1 p.m.
3 Sept. 21 Arizona Cardinals 1 p.m.
4 Sept. 28 at Dallas Cowboys 4:15 p.m.
5 Oct. 5 at Philadelphia Eagles 1 p.m.
6 Oct. 12 St. Louis Rams 1 p.m.
7 Oct. 19 Cleveland Browns 4:15 p.m.
8 Oct. 26 at Detroit Lions 1 p.m.
9 Nov. 3 (Mon.) Pittsburgh Steelers 8:30 p.m.
10 Nov. 9 Bye
11 Nov. 16 Dallas Cowboys* 8:15 p.m.
12 Nov. 23 at Seattle Seahawks 4:15 p.m.
13 Nov. 30 New York Giants 1 p.m.
14 Dec. 7 at Baltimore Ravens 1 p.m.
15 Dec. 14 at Cincinnati Bengals 1 p.m.
16 Dec. 21 Philadelphia Eagles 1 p.m.
17 Dec. 28 at San Francisco 49ers 4:15 p.m.

I think Washington is going to be solid in 2008, but they will have to overcome a tough division with the Eagles, Giants and Cowboys. If Jim Zorn can improve the offense, and the defense remains stout, Washington will make another late-season run. It might come down to how well Jason Campbell plays at quarterback. Look for Clinton Portis to have a big year.

NFC North

Chicago Bears
Wk Date Matchup Time
1 Sept. 7 at Indianapolis Colts 8:15 p.m.
2 Sept. 14 at Carolina Panthers 1 p.m.
3 Sept. 21 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1 p.m.
4 Sept. 28 Philadelphia Eagles 8:15 p.m.
5 Oct. 5 at Detroit Lions 1 p.m.
6 Oct. 12 at Atlanta Falcons 1 p.m.
7 Oct. 19 Minnesota Vikings 1 p.m.
8 Oct. 26 Bye
9 Nov. 2 Detroit Lions 1 p.m.
10 Nov. 9 Tennessee Titans 1 p.m.
11 Nov. 16 at Green Bay Packers 1 p.m.
12 Nov. 23 at St. Louis Rams 1 p.m.
13 Nov. 30 at Minnesota Vikings* 8:15 p.m.
14 Dec. 7 Jacksonville Jaguars 1 p.m.
15 Dec. 11 (Thurs.) New Orleans Saints 8:15 p.m.
16 Dec. 22 (Mon.) Green Bay Packers 8:30 p.m.
17 Dec. 28 at Houston Texans 1 p.m.

The Bears might be the worst team in the NFC, especially if Brian Urlacher isn't 100 percent with his neck. Rex Grossman needs weapons on offense, and he has none. Cedric Benson isn't a great running back. And the defense isn't the same as it was in 2006. Only Devin Hester is a real difference maker, and who knows how many times he will touch the ball. If Chicago wins five games I'd be shocked.

Detriot Lions
Wk Date Matchup Time
1 Sept. 7 at Atlanta Falcons 1 p.m.
2 Sept. 14 Green Bay Packers 1 p.m.
3 Sept. 21 at San Francisco 49ers 4:05 p.m.
4 Sept. 28 Bye
5 Oct. 5 Chicago Bears 1 p.m.
6 Oct. 12 at Minnesota Vikings 1 p.m.
7 Oct. 19 at Houston Texans 4:05 p.m.
8 Oct. 26 Washington Redskins 1 p.m.
9 Nov. 2 at Chicago Bears 1 p.m.
10 Nov. 9 Jacksonville Jaguars 1 p.m.
11 Nov. 16 at Carolina Panthers 1 p.m.
12 Nov. 23 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1 p.m.
13 Nov. 27 (Thurs.) Tennessee Titans 12:30 p.m.
14 Dec. 7 Minnesota Vikings 1 p.m.
15 Dec. 14 at Indianapolis Colts 1 p.m.
16 Dec. 21 New Orleans Saints 1 p.m.
17 Dec. 28 at Green Bay Packers 1 p.m.

Now we'll see how the Lions offense does without Mike Martz. They should be able to run the ball, but remember Tatum Bell is going into the season as the expected starter. That will likely change after the draft. They have a great wide receiver tandem in Roy Williams and Calvin Johnson, but they will have to make Jon Kitna better and not the other way around. Look for the Lions to miss the playoffs again.

Green Bay Packers
Wk Date Matchup Time
1 Sept. 8 (Mon.) Minnesota Vikings 7 p.m.
2 Sept. 14 at Detroit Lions 1 p.m.
3 Sept. 21 Dallas Cowboys 8:15 p.m.
4 Sept. 28 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1 p.m.
5 Oct. 5 Atlanta Falcons 1 p.m.
6 Oct. 12 at Seattle Seahawks 4:15 p.m.
7 Oct. 19 Indianapolis Colts 4:15 p.m.
8 Oct. 26 Bye
9 Nov. 2 at Tennessee Titans 1 p.m.
10 Nov. 9 at Minnesota Vikings 1 p.m.
11 Nov. 16 Chicago Bears 1 p.m.
12 Nov. 24 (Mon.) at New Orleans Saints 8:30 p.m.
13 Nov. 30 Carolina Panthers 1 p.m.
14 Dec. 7 Houston Texans 1 p.m.
15 Dec. 14 at Jacksonville Jaguars 1 p.m.
16 Dec. 22 (Mon.) at Chicago Bears 8:30 p.m.
17 Dec. 28 Detroit Lions 1 p.m.

Aaron Rodgers will get his first start against Minnesota at home on Monday night. No pressure there. At least the Vikings have a bad secondary. Rodgers should be successful, as well as the Packers since they still play in the same division as Detroit and Chicago. Look for at least 10 wins this year.

Minnesota Vikings
Wk Date Matchup Time
1 Sept. 8 (Mon.) at Green Bay Packers 7 p.m.
2 Sept. 14 Indianapolis Colts 1 p.m.
3 Sept. 21 Carolina Panthers 1 p.m.
4 Sept. 28 at Tennessee Titans 1 p.m.
5 Oct. 6 (Mon.) at New Orleans Saints 8:30 p.m.
6 Oct. 12 Detroit Lions 1 p.m.
7 Oct. 19 at Chicago Bears 1 p.m.
8 Oct. 26 Bye
9 Nov. 2 Houston Texans 1 p.m.
10 Nov. 9 Green Bay Packers 1 p.m.
11 Nov. 16 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1 p.m.
12 Nov. 23 at Jacksonville Jaguars 1 p.m.
13 Nov. 30 Chicago Bears* 8:15 p.m.
14 Dec. 7 at Detroit Lions 1 p.m.
15 Dec. 14 at Arizona Cardinals 4:05 p.m.
16 Dec. 21 Atlanta Falcons 1 p.m.
17 Dec. 28 New York Giants 1 p.m.

How many yards for Adrian Peterson this year? I'm guessing 1,400 rushing and 300 receiving with 12 touchdowns if he stays healthy. I hope Chester Taylor doesn't take away too many carries. I'd also like to see Tarvaris Jackson take the next step in his development and become a quality starter. The Vikings have a strong enough defense to make a strong playoff run.

NFC South

Atlanta Falcons
Wk Date Matchup Time
1 Sept. 7 Detroit Lions 1 p.m.
2 Sept. 14 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers 4:05 p.m.
3 Sept. 21 Kansas City Chiefs 1 p.m.
4 Sept. 28 at Carolina Panthers 1 p.m.
5 Oct. 5 at Green Bay Packers 1 p.m.
6 Oct. 12 Chicago Bears 1 p.m.
7 Oct. 19 Bye
8 Oct. 26 at Philadelphia Eagles 1 p.m.
9 Nov. 2 at Oakland Raiders 4:15 p.m.
10 Nov. 9 New Orleans Saints 1 p.m.
11 Nov. 16 Denver Broncos 1 p.m.
12 Nov. 23 Carolina Panthers 1 p.m.
13 Nov. 30 at San Diego Chargers 4:05 p.m.
14 Dec. 7 at New Orleans Saints 1 p.m.
15 Dec. 14 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1 p.m.
16 Dec. 21 at Minnesota Vikings 1 p.m.
17 Dec. 28 St. Louis Rams 1 p.m.

Dave Richard is high on Michael Turner as a strong Fantasy option this year, but I disagree. I don't like the talent on Atlanta's offense this year outside of Roddy White, and even he doesn't really make my toes tingle. The Falcons are going to be bad, even if they take Matt Ryan in the first round. And the defense will struggle also.

Carolina Panthers
Wk Date Matchup Time
1 Sept. 7 at San Diego Chargers 4:15 p.m.
2 Sept. 14 Chicago Bears 1 p.m.
3 Sept. 21 at Minnesota Vikings 1 p.m.
4 Sept. 28 Atlanta Falcons 1 p.m.
5 Oct. 5 Kansas City Chiefs 1 p.m.
6 Oct. 12 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1 p.m.
7 Oct. 19 New Orleans Saints 1 p.m.
8 Oct. 26 Arizona Cardinals 1 p.m.
9 Nov. 2 Bye
10 Nov. 9 at Oakland Raiders 4:05 p.m.
11 Nov. 16 Detroit Lions 1 p.m.
12 Nov. 23 at Atlanta Falcons 1 p.m.
13 Nov. 30 at Green Bay Packers 1 p.m.
14 Dec. 8 (Mon.) Tampa Bay Buccaneers 8:30 p.m.
15 Dec. 14 Denver Broncos 1 p.m.
16 Dec. 21 at New York Giants 1 p.m.
17 Dec. 28 at New Orleans Saints 1 p.m.

Steve Smith must be giddy about the season-opener at San Diego because he will have his quarterback back under center in Jake Delhomme. If Delhomme can return to form, and with the addition of Muhsin Muhammad and D.J. Hackett at wide receiver, the Panthers offense could be explosive. Then again, that's asking a lot from running back DeAngelo Williams, who will be the starter this year.

New Orleans Saints
Wk Date Matchup Time
1 Sept. 7 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1 p.m.
2 Sept. 14 at Washington Redskins 1 p.m.
3 Sept. 21 at Denver Broncos 4:05 p.m.
4 Sept. 28 San Francisco 49ers 1 p.m.
5 Oct. 6 (Mon.) Minnesota Vikings 8:30 p.m.
6 Oct. 12 Oakland Raiders 1 p.m.
7 Oct. 19 at Carolina Panthers 1 p.m.
8 Oct. 26 San Diego Chargers (in London) 1 p.m.
9 Nov. 2 Bye
10 Nov. 9 at Atlanta Falcons 1 p.m.
11 Nov. 16 at Kansas City Chiefs 1 p.m.
12 Nov. 24 (Mon.) Green Bay Packers 8:30 p.m.
13 Nov. 30 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1 p.m.
14 Dec. 7 Atlanta Falcons 1 p.m.
15 Dec. 11 (Thurs.) at Chicago Bears 8:15 p.m.
16 Dec. 21 at Detroit Lions 1 p.m.
17 Dec. 28 Carolina Panthers 1 p.m.

We just got done doing an interview with Ben Sheets for our podcast -- here's the link -- and he said the Saints are going to the Super Bowl. If you believe Sheets, it could be a fun year for the Saints. Deuce McAllister is healthy, and if the defense improves New Orleans should go back to the postseason.  The game in London against the Chargers should be fun. Look for at least 10 wins this year.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Wk Date Matchup Time
1 Sept. 7 at New Orleans Saints 1 p.m.
2 Sept. 14 Atlanta Falcons 4:05 p.m.
3 Sept. 21 at Chicago Bears 1 p.m.
4 Sept. 28 Green Bay Packers 1 p.m.
5 Oct. 5 at Denver Broncos 4:05 p.m.
6 Oct. 12 Carolina Panthers 1 p.m.
7 Oct. 19 Seattle Seahawks 8:15 p.m.
8 Oct. 26 at Dallas Cowboys 1 p.m.
9 Nov. 2 at Kansas City Chiefs 1 p.m.
10 Nov. 9 Bye
11 Nov. 19 Minnesota Vikings 1 p.m.
12 Nov. 23 at Detroit Lions 1 p.m.
13 Nov. 30 New Orleans Saints 1 p.m.
14 Dec. 8 (Mon.) at Carolina Panthers 8:30 p.m.
15 Dec. 14 at Atlanta Falcons 1 p.m.
16 Dec. 21 San Diego Chargers* 8:15 p.m.
17 Dec. 28 Oakland Raiders 1 p.m.

The Bucs have to fight the dubious distinction of winning the NFC South because usually the next year the winner of the division falls off. I don't think Tampa Bay will tank, but the Bucs need another healthy year from Jeff Garcia and for the defense to remain tough. That might be hard to do. I do hope for another good season from Earnest Graham because he has great Fantasy potential in 2008.

NFC West

Arizona Cardinals
Wk Date Matchup Time
1 Sept. 7 at San Francisco 49ers 4:15 p.m.
2 Sept. 14 Miami Dolphins 4:15 p.m.
3 Sept. 21 at Washington Redskins 1 p.m.
4 Sept. 28 at New York Jets 1 p.m.
5 Oct. 5 Buffalo Bills 4:15 p.m.
6 Oct. 12 Dallas Cowboys 4:15 p.m.
7 Oct. 19 Bye
8 Oct. 26 at Carolina Panthers 1 p.m.
9 Nov. 2 at St. Louis Rams 1 p.m.
10 Nov. 10 (Mon.) San Francisco 49ers 8:30 p.m.
11 Nov. 16 at Seattle Seahawks 4:05 p.m.
12 Nov. 23 New York Giants 4:15 p.m.
13 Nov. 27 (Thurs.) at Philadelphia Eagles 8:15 p.m.
14 Dec. 7 St. Louis Rams 4:15 p.m.
15 Dec. 14 Minnesota Vikings 4:05 p.m.
16 Dec. 21 at New England Patriots 1 p.m.
17 Dec. 28 Seattle Seahawks 4:15 p.m.

Arizona could be the surprise team of the division if the Cardinals settle on a quarterback early and don't deal with injuries. The offense could be explosive no matter if it's Matt Leinart, the expected starter, or Kurt Warner. Edgerrin James has bust written all over him, but he also could be a Fantasy stud. The defense will surprise people this year. And Neil Rackers can't miss game-winning field goals.

San Francisco 49ers
Wk Date Matchup Time
1 Sept. 7 Arizona Cardinals 4:15 p.m.
2 Sept. 14 at Seattle Seahawks 4:05 p.m.
3 Sept. 21 Detroit Lions 4:05 p.m.
4 Sept. 28 at New Orleans Saints 1 p.m.
5 Oct. 5 New England Patriots 4:15 p.m.
6 Oct. 12 Philadelphia Eagles 4:15 p.m.
7 Oct. 19 at New York Giants 1 p.m.
8 Oct. 26 Seattle Seahawks 4:15 p.m.
9 Nov. 2 Bye
10 Nov. 10 (Mon.) at Arizona Cardinals 8:30 p.m.
11 Nov. 16 St. Louis Rams 4:05 p.m.
12 Nov. 23 at Dallas Cowboys 1 p.m.
13 Nov. 30 at Buffalo Bills 1 p.m.
14 Dec. 7 New York Jets 4:05 p.m.
15 Dec. 14 at Miami Dolphins 1 p.m.
16 Dec. 21 at St. Louis Rams 1 p.m.
17 Dec. 28 Washington Redskins 4:15 p.m.

The 49ers get the evil genius at offensive coordinator with Mike Martz, and he should help Frank Gore go from good to great and improve the stock of Alex Smith. If the defense can hold up, and the 49ers are loaded at linebacker, it could be a good year for San Francisco. The 49ers were the trendy pick in 2007 but faltered, and this year they could be the surprise of the NFC.

Seattle Seahawks
Wk Date Matchup Time
1 Sept. 7 at Buffalo Bills 1 p.m.
2 Sept. 14 San Francisco 49ers 4:05 p.m.
3 Sept. 21 St. Louis Rams 4:05 p.m.
4 Sept. 28 Bye
5 Oct. 5 at New York Giants 1 p.m.
6 Oct. 12 Green Bay Packers 4:15 p.m.
7 Oct. 19 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers 8:15 p.m.
8 Oct. 26 at San Francisco 49ers 4:15 p.m.
9 Nov. 2 Philadelphia Eagles 4:15 p.m.
10 Nov. 9 at Miami Dolphins 1 p.m.
11 Nov. 16 Arizona Cardinals 4:05 p.m.
12 Nov. 23 Washington Redskins 4:15 p.m.
13 Nov. 27 (Thurs.) at Dallas Cowboys 4:15 p.m.
14 Dec. 7 New England Patriots* 8:15 p.m.
15 Dec. 14 at St. Louis Rams 1 p.m.
16 Dec. 21 New York Jets 4:05 p.m.
17 Dec. 28 at Arizona Cardinals 4:15 p.m.

The Seahawks are trying to make a run to the Super Bowl in Mike Holmgren's final season, but the division might have caught up to Seattle if San Francisco and Arizona have improved as expected. The Seahawks should be able to run the ball better with Julius Jones and T.J. Duckett replacing the injured Shaun Alexander. But the Seahawks passing game could suffer with D.J. Hackett gone and Deion Branch not healthy.

St. Louis Rams
Wk Date Matchup Time
1 Sept. 7 at Philadelphia Eagles 1 p.m.
2 Sept. 14 New York Giants 1 p.m.
3 Sept. 21 at Seattle Seahawks 4:05 p.m.
4 Sept. 28 Buffalo Bills 4:05 p.m.
5 Oct. 5 Bye
6 Oct. 12 at Washington Redskins 1 p.m.
7 Oct. 19 Dallas Cowboys 1 p.m.
8 Oct. 26 at New England Patriots 1 p.m.
9 Nov. 2 Arizona Cardinals 1 p.m.
10 Nov. 9 at New York Jets 1 p.m.
11 Nov. 16 at San Francisco 49ers 4:05 p.m.
12 Nov. 23 Chicago Bears 1 p.m.
13 Nov. 30 Miami Dolphins 1 p.m.
14 Dec. 7 at Arizona Cardinals 4:15 p.m.
15 Dec. 14 Seattle Seahawks 1 p.m.
16 Dec. 21 San Francisco 49ers 1 p.m.
17 Dec. 28 at Atlanta Falcons 1 p.m.

Health is the key for the Rams, who last year were decimated by injuries to Marc Bulger, Steven Jackson and the entire offensive line. If the offense can stay intact, and the defense continues to improve, the Rams could return to contention. Jackson should be in line for a big season. Still, I see the Rams finishing just below .500 and out of the playoffs.

Comments on the NFL Schedule - AFC

The NFL schedule was released Tuesday, and it looks like another exciting season with some great matchups.

Let's take a look at each team, and you can offer your thoughts on team-by-team schedules. Comments are listed below each team.

AFC East
Buffalo Bills
Wk Date Matchup Time
1 Sept. 7 Seattle Seahawks 1 p.m.
2 Sept. 14 at Jacksonville Jaguars 1 p.m.
3 Sept. 21 Oakland Raiders 1 p.m.
4 Sept. 28 at St. Louis Rams 4:05 p.m.
5 Oct. 5 at Arizona Cardinals 4:15 p.m.
6 Oct. 12 Bye
7 Oct. 19 San Diego Chargers 1 p.m.
8 Oct. 26 at Miami Dolphins 1 p.m.
9 Nov. 2 New York Jets 1 p.m.
10 Nov. 9 at New England Patriots 1 p.m.
11 Nov. 17 (Mon.) Cleveland Browns 8:30 p.m.
12 Nov. 23 at Kansas City Chiefs 1 p.m.
13 Nov. 30 San Francisco 49ers 1 p.m.
14 Dec. 7 Miami Dolphins (at Toronto) 4:05 p.m.
15 Dec. 14 at New York Jets 1 p.m.
16 Dec. 21 at Denver Broncos 4:05 p.m.
17 Dec. 28 New England Patriots 1 p.m.

The Bills are looking at another year around .500. They should start 0-2 then 3-2 heading into the bye week. I see them at 8-5 heading into the final three weeks of the season, and Buffalo will likely finish 9-7 or 8-8.

Miami Dolphins
Wk Date Matchup Time
1 Sept. 7 N.Y. Jets 1 p.m.
2 Sept. 14 at Arizona Cardinals 4:15 p.m.
3 Sept. 21 at New England Patriots 1 p.m.
4 Sept. 28 Bye

13 Nov. 30 at St. Louis Rams 1 p.m.
14 Dec. 7 at Buffalo Bills (Toronto) 4:05 p.m.
15 Dec. 14 San Francisco 49ers 1 p.m.
16 Dec. 21 at Kansas City Chiefs 1 p.m.
17 Dec. 28 at New York Jets 1 p.m.

The Dolphins are going to struggle again. They could be 1-2 heading into the bye week with a win against the Jets or Cardinals, but most likely Miami will be fighting for its first victory against Baltimore in Week 7, Oakland in Week 11, at St. Louis in Week 13, San Francisco in Week 15 and at Kansas City in Week 16. The best-case scenario for the Dolphins is they win all those games, which could give them five or six wins this year.

New England Patriots
Wk Date Matchup Time
1 Sept. 7 Kansas City Chiefs 1 p.m.
2 Sep. 14 at New York Jets 4:15 p.m.
3 Sep. 21 Miami Dolphins 1 p.m.
4 Sep. 28 Bye
5 Oct. 5 at San Francisco 49ers 4:15 p.m.
6 Oct. 12 at San Diego Chargers 8:15 p.m.
7 Oct. 20 (Mon.) Denver Broncos 8:30 p.m.
8 Oct. 26 St. Louis Rams 1 p.m.
9 Nov. 2 at Indianapolis Colts 8:15 p.m.
10 Nov. 9 Buffalo Bills 1 p.m.

The Patriots have somewhat of a difficult schedule when you see two back-to-back trips to the West Coast in Weeks 5 and 6 and then Weeks 14 and 15. They also have to play at Indianapolis again. Otherwise, New England should coast. The Pats won't go undefeated in the regular season, but they will be successful.

The Jets are going to be 2-2 heading into the bye week at best, with wins against Miami and Arizona. After the bye, the Jets could win their next five games and be 7-2 heading into the showdown with the Patriots. The Jets could get three wins after facing New England against San Francisco, Buffalo and Miami, which would mean a 10-win season is possible.

The Ravens are going to struggle in their division this year because Cleveland will be better, and Cincinnati's offense should be able to score on Baltimore's defense. The Ravens offense might have to win some games this year, which will be tough to count on. The Ravens could be 3-6 heading into the bye week before closing the season with five losses in the final seven games.

The Bengals are going to have plenty of offense, but defense will remain the issue. The Bengals could realistically lose six of their first seven games. After the bye, it doesn't get any easier with games against playoff teams in Jacksonville, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis and Washington, and contenders in Philadelphia and Cleveland. It will be another rough season.

The Browns have a chance to be successful this year, but the schedule isn't in their favor. Dallas and Pittsburgh to start the season is brutal. Following the bye, Cleveland will struggle with the Giants, at Washington and at Jacksonville. And then to close the season, Houston, Indianapolis, at Tennessee, at Philadelphia and at Pittsburgh in the final six weeks. For the Browns to make the playoffs, they will have to earn it.

The Steelers have a difficult schedule with eight games against the NFC East and AFC South, the two best divisions in the NFL. On top of that, the Browns should compete with the Steelers for the top spot in the division. It will be a tough year for the Steelers to get back to the playoffs.

The Texans should start 3-3 going into the bye week. Following the bye, Houston will get wins against Cincinnati, Tennessee, Oakland and Chicago. Another win or two would push the Texans over .500 and into playoff contention. But it will all depend on Matt Schaub staying healthy.

The Colts season will likely come down to its stretch of games starting in Week7, with tough matchups at Green Bay, home to New England, at Pittsburgh, at San Diego and at Cleveland. The division will be tough also, but the Colts should make through with at least 10 wins again.

It will be interesting to see David Garrard and his new weapons with Jerry Porter and Troy Williamson, which should open up the offense. That will mean more running lanes for Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew, and I see Jones-Drew having a big year. The Jaguars have great home games against Indianapolis, Cleveland and Pittsburgh.

The Titans better hope they can run the ball with the same success as last year because outside of upgrading at tight end, Vince Young again is left with little help at wide receiver. On defense, the Titans have lost several key players. The Titans will finish around .500 this year.

The Broncos have a chance to finish the season strong this year as opposed to previous years when they fell apart at the end. I can see Denver going 7-2 after the bye to finish 10-6. Brandon Marshall's arm needs to be 100 percent, and Travis Henry needs to stay healthy for a full season.

The Chiefs are going to be bad, especially with Brodie Croyle expected to start at quarterback. Larry Johnson, however, has a chance to start the season strong with some poor run defenses on the schedule in Oakland, Atlanta, Denver and Carolina in the first five weeks. If Johnson can stay healthy, he should rebound as a quality Fantasy running back.

All eyes will be on JaMarcus Russell early to see if he can live up to the hype of being the No. 1 overall pick last year. I don't know how good Russell will be, and I don't like his receiving options even with the addition of Javon Walker. The Raiders will again finish fourth behind San Diego, Denver and Kansas City.

All of the Chargers tough games out of division instead of at Pittsburgh in Week 11 are at home, which will help in matchups against Indianapolis and New England. But the Chargers could get off to a slow start with Philip Rivers (knee), Antonio Gates (toe) and possibly LaDainian Tomlinson (knee) coming into the season banged up.
